This is to montana2007. I tried to find you on this site but you weren't there, so I don't even know if you will get this. I just wanted to let you know I got a new computer and was able to open your attachments. Thank you so much for taking the time to send me such valuable info. I wanted to let you know that I plan to enroll in the CWC Equine Studies, In Riverton, WY, course in Fall 2009. Do you have any opinions on the program? I thought I'd go for the 2 year degree in Horse Management. Are there any jobs out there for this degree? I'd still like info on your clinics.

I'm still here. Have had computer problems myself recently... a real computer crash. Tripped on two unseen stair steps in a dark hallway and dropped my laptop while it was on. Hard drive and screen toast! Thank God for backups!!!!

I'm not familiar with the program in Riverton so can't offer any advice on this subject. The only advice that I can give is that trying to make a living right out of the chute in working with horses is pretty tough. When I started out I did it for free for a couple years. eventually a reputation spread and people came to me rather than me to them. I have never advertised... only word of mouth and referrals. The only thing you have going for you in this game is TRUST, and that comes very slowly over time and demonstrated success. Don't rely on your paper certificate from Riverton alone to land you a position. You'll find that most spots are filled by folks who have learned by doing and the school of hard knocks.

I will be giving clinics in the early summer 2009, and during the winter months by request. I'm not a gold member and can only reply with contact info to emails sent me on this site.

Thanks for your interest. Hope things are going well for you. As I recall the last time we spoke you were in the process of a major move, with horses?
